About Us

The Fred Bohannon Football Camp (FBFC) is the #1 Christian Football Camp in North America and the world’s premier destination for elite performance training and total athletic and academic development. For over 14 years our FBFC Memberships and Summer Camp/Retreat programs have prepared our young athletes mentally, physically, and spiritually for high school and college athletics. The FBFC offers year round tutoring, ACT/SAT preparation, athletic training, college tours, and is designed to systematically and purposefully improve all aspects of athleticism. We allow our athletes a chance to enjoy and learn the fundamentals of football, basketball, soccer and athletic training. The FBFC is dedicated to investing in the lives of our young girls and boys; therefore every year we offer full scholarships and mentoring for all of our programs to low income families from underrepresented groups in the Wayne County, MI area. The last four years the FBFC has partnered with COTS Detroit, homeless shelter, to provide support and offer scholarships to youth that were interested in joining our program. This year we are also partnering with MACC Sports to offer camp scholarships to all youth that live in the 48214 area code as well. We will provide camp scholarships to all youth in our partner programs so that they can enjoy and grow from our camp experience. We welcome all athletes regardless of their talent, gender, race, or religion. We have always taught our youth that hard work, perseverance, and trusting in Jesus Christ will take them further than they could ever imagine in life. Our high school graduates have moved on, attended, and graduated from prestigious schools such as St. Mary’s University, Wayne State University, Ole Miss University, University of Windsor, Michigan State University, Murray State University, Specs Howard School of Media Arts, and etc. Our goal is to build a foundation within our community and uplift as we climb the ladder of success. Life excellence starts with “Mind, Body, and Soul”.

The FBFC is named after Frederick Bohannon (May 31, 1958-February 8,1999). Bohannon played his high school football at Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, AL. He later received a scholarship to attend Mississippi Valley State where he led the secondary in tackles and deflections for 3 seasons. He also played professional football with the NFL Pittsburgh Steelers and the USFL Birmingham Stallions. Shortly after his football career ended he began his career as a Birmingham Police Officer; but with football still in his veins he accepted a position as the secondary coach for the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Bohannon taught and mentored many young men as a coach and was a leader in his community. He touched so many lives that this camp was named in his honor so that his legacy can continue.
